Wow, the traffic going through Chicago was a bear! We left Traverse City Michigan at noon on a Friday and arrived in Dallas Texas on Sunday evening. 1,100 miles in 2.5 days - Whew!!

As you can see Rusty was very nervous...

Now we need a sign like that on our rig - "Show Hooters" - I wonder if it worked for him. I know what you're thinking... no we didn't show him our hooters, not that we're prudes we just couldn't get our lane to go fast enough to catch up to him.

Now this is funny. We walked over the levy to get to the Mississippi River to spread some of Mom's ashes and I saw this laying low in the water. I asked Marilyn if there are alligators this far north and she said "yeah probably" and I just freaked... I thought this was an alligator.

Marilyn just kept on walking and I just yelled at her to "get back here, I'm not walking in any alligator infested swamp" and then Marilyn figured out it was just a stick and she just wouldn't let it go. I don't think I've ever heard her laugh at me like that, but I think she peed a little.

The alligator free pond. (We think)

There are BBQ places here everywhere...most don't look like the Health Dept. knows they're open. The BBQ wasn't bad and we're still kickin' so I guess it was okay.

This was an accident that popped up over a hill. We slammed the brakes on ol' Tara and she locked up and slid, everything inside met us at the front seat and we stopped just a few inches before hitting the car in front of us. I believe the people in front of us could only read FLEETW in their rear view.

It turned out to be a truck and a camper trailer turned over. There were no skid marks, it just looks like he flipped in sideways in mid air.

Boy is your wife going to be pissed.

We visited the Stockyards in Fort Worth Texas. Very fun!

The street was brick and all the buildings were original back to the cowboy days.

Great area for some cowboy fun. Lots of tight butt cowboys around here.

The breakdown of a cattle drive. In case you were wondering.

Stockyard Maze.

Marilyn and her new cowboy buddy on a real wild horse.

This if for Rebecca, as true Fudgies we couldn't help but be drawn to this shop. (Rebecca calls tourists in her area Fudgies - we qualified.)

All the streets were brick - it was great!

Cowgirls!

And then there was the bull.
