The people of Kansas take their yard art to the extreme, we saw more concrete deers and geese than anywhere else. This spot was the winner.

Buffalo, Sail Fish, Pinto pony with Indian.... they had it all.

The best thing we saw in Kanasas was the Cosmosphere. We were amazed to find the most facinating Space Museum we have ever seen right in the middle of Kansas. The had the Apolla 13 space capsule, they had a German V rocket (the original space rocket), they even had Neil Armstrongs gloves that actual touched alien soil.

The Cosmosphere also had a huge exhibit on the cold war as it had to do with space proliferation. Here we are standing in front of an actual piece of the Berlin Wall. Chilling...to the touch and to the mind.

Of course what would a place of knowledge and honor be without a little naughty humor. Hey that's Fene walking in the footsteps of those first astronauts.

Hey, I was here first get your own damn ladder!

How do you go pee in there anyway. (There was actually a whole exhibit inside on human waste elimination and believe me you don't want to know!)

Buns of Bronze!

Marilyn is always a sucker for a man in uniform.

Corn, Corn and more Corn.

I must say we have very beautiful land in this country.

Now this is an amazing site. Yes you are correct, that is a Tractor coming down that intersate offramp. You see, we were in Yoder, a Menonite town, and they are not allowed to drive cars...but tractors are okay.

This young man drove right up to the meat store we were at and parked in the lot just like a sedan. What a site.

This was a fun shot. Look at all the different sizes of those homemade jeans. They usually have 5-7 children... I would just hate laundry day!

The homes were simple but very large.

Now, you know they can't drive cars but you say "how do they get all those kids on the tractor to go to church?" Very good question. You see they cut off a truck bed and attach a hitch to it then they pile the young'uns into that truck bed and tow it with the tractor. I'm not sure that complies with the child safety seat laws but I guess that doesn't matter when it's not a car but modified "Farm Equipment." Hmmmmm!?

They even pull their livestock trailers with a Tractor, who needs a pickup truck with all that evil gadgetry like radios and air conditioning.

A Yoder, Kansas house.

Here you see Mama taking the kids on down the road a piece with her tractor and modified Ford ass.

A traditional barn raising with one man, hard work and a lot of sweat.

Beautiful windmills in this part of the state. Most still in use for the Amish style farms.
