Welcom Ya'll - I guess we're finally in the South!
Home of the Blues
This is Sun Studio, where Elvis Presley paid to cut his first record.
There had a beautiful Victorian area where the cotton millionaires built huge homes.
Danny Thomas founded St Judes Childrens Hospital here, he is buried in this garden
This statue used to be in Downtown Memphis but everyone kept stealing the tassles off of it so they moved it into the Visitor Center.
Now his neighbor is BB King.
Door #418 is where the man who shot Martin Luther King, Jr. entered and waited for his shot.
The wreath marks where Marting Luther King, Jr. was standing when he was shot.
We also visited the Famous Peabody Ducks. The ducks live on the roof - at 11:00 am they are escorted down the elevator and spend the day in the fountain in the bar. At 5:00 the ducks are then asked to leave the fountain and they walk along a red carpet to the elevators and back to their roost on the roof. They have been doing this for over 75 years.
This is the Duck Master responsible for the ducks comings and goings.
And there they go....
As you can see this is a tremendous tourist attraction
This is the hospital where Elvis was pronounced dead.
We stayed at an RV park across the street from Graceland.
